All Protests Are Prohibited By The Nasarawa State Police.

The police leadership of Nasarawa State has banned any demonstrations.

The PPRO, DSP Ramhan Nansel, gave an explanation for the decision in a statement on Sunday.

Also, he declared that any planned demonstrations, regardless of their disguise, were forbidden in all areas of the state.

According to NAIJALOADED, the prohibition was necessary as a result of the ongoing protests carried out by women who are reportedly Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members in the state.

In accordance with the assertion,

All kinds of protest are forbidden across the state, the Nasarawa State Police Command desires to notify the populace.

The statement went on to say that the police command made the choice in order to stop the breakdown of law and order and to maintain the current level of peace in the state, highlighting the fact that no longer could protests of any kind be sustained in the state due to the intelligence report on security.

The message warned parents and guardians to make sure their kids and wards follow the rules since doing so would result in arrest and exposure to the full force of the law.

After the winner of the gubernatorial election was declared, PDP supporters in the State, especially women’s and youth organizations, have been protesting and requesting that the Independent National Election Commission, INEC, conduct a review of the outcomes of the governorship election in 2023.

The All Progressives Congress (APCincumbent )’s governor Abdullahi Sule was proclaimed the victor of the election on March 18, 2023, by INEC.
