Zlatan Ibrahimovic Of Ac Milan Was Selected For The Sweden Team At The Age Of 41.
|A year after his last appearance for Sweden, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been called up to the team for their European Championship qualifying matches at the age of 41.
Later this month, Sweden will play Belgium and Azerbaijan.
Due to a knee injury, the AC Milan attacker has missed most of the season.
After Euro 2016, he gave up playing for his country, although he came back in 2021 for their disastrous World Cup qualification campaign.
Yet, it will provide his team additional “substitution alternatives,” according to manager Janne Andersson, who does not view Ibrahimovic “as a starter”.
Ibrahimovic last played for his nation against Poland in their World Cup qualifying play-off defeat in 2022. This season, he has made three substitute appearances for AC Milan.
With 62 goals in 121 games, the former striker for Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain is Sweden’s all-time leading scorer.
