Ten Hag is upset with the Manchester United players.

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, referred to his team’s strategy of deep-crossing for Cristiano Ronaldo as “dumb.”

Ten Hag made his remarks following Sunday’s 3-1 defeat at Aston Villa.

Ten Hag said when asked if he had suggested to his players that they look for Ronaldo’s head:

“No, I believe that was foolish.”

Added him:

“We forced crosses in too quickly and from too far out. And so we don’t assist him. The crosses must be introduced at the appropriate time.

“I believe that we brought the crosses in too early in the second half as well. In the first half, Christian Eriksen was in the right place at the right time to pass the ball to Cristiano at the far post. The time was right at that point.

In the Carabao Cup, United will play Villa once again before playing Fulham the following weekend.
