Barcelona has outlined its offer to Lionel Messi.

Barcelona has set the goal of convincing perhaps the best player in history to join them next summer even though they will compete in the Europa League in 2023.

Sport claims that a transfer for Lionel Messi is scheduled for January. Barcelona may try to recruit the Argentine while they are presently able to pay wages without any limitations because of concern that they may have to curtail their expenditure next summer in order to adhere to the La Liga salary rules.

As the story notes, they would need to discover a method or a source of funding to persuade Paris Saint-Germain to release Messi in the middle of the season. Messi would need to be convinced to leave Paris in the middle of the season even if the World Cup is his major priority.

This agreement seems to be very unlikely from all angles. The claim is fairly negative, but if Barcelona’s directors are really contemplating moving this winter, it shows that they have a great deal of faith in their ability to close deals. They would be better to direct their attention on goals that are simpler to achieve.
