The Kaduna Government Disputes That Jema’a And Kaura Councils Have Curfews.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) was declared the winner of the governorship election last Saturday, but the Kaduna State government has denied that the state government immediately imposed a 24-hour curfew in the Jema’a and Kaura local councils less than 12 hours after INEC announced the results.

Unconfirmed sources claim that Samuel Aruwan, the state’s commissioner for internal security and home affairs, announced in a statement that a curfew would be imposed in those councils in order to help security agencies stabilize the security situation there, save lives and property, and reinstate law and order.

Security services have complete authority to implement the curfew, according to a comment from Aruwan. All people of Jema’a and Kaura councils are urged by the government to assist security forces in their efforts to maintain law and order and restore peace.

“Government condemns the acts of lawlessness and violence that have taken place in the communities.”

Aruwan refuted the claim, saying: “I did not make a declaration announcing a curfew in the Kaura and Jama’a councils. Please note that it is bogus news.
