For Armed Robbery, A Rivers Court Condemns A Guy To Death By Hanging.

Promise Thompson was found guilty of armed robbery and given a death by hanging sentence by Judge Sika Henry-Aprioku of the Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt.

Thompson also received 14 years in prison for kidnapping someone and 10 years for kidnapping a child.

Mrs. Queen Chisom-Lucky received a seven-year sentence from Judge Sika Henry-Aprioku, while her husband, Mr. Lucky, received a ten-year term for kidnapping.

The first defendant in the case, Promise Thompson, and his group traveled to the Eagle Cement area on the Trans-Kalabari route in Rumuolumeni to rob one Chidiebere Ogbogu, according to the judge’s ruling on three charges of kidnapping, kidnapping, and armed robbery.

According to the trial judge, Ogbogu’s left arm was shot on October 25, 2018, and his five-year-old daughter, Chigoziri Ogbogu, was later taken by the prisoner and one Beatrice Ogunka, who fled after being given bail by the police.

According to Judge Henry-Aprioku, the prosecution’s evidence showed that Thompson sold the youngster to another syndicate after selling him to his own at Urantta crossroads in Aba, Abia State.

After five months, the five-year-old kid was rescued from an orphanage home.
