I do not “Bedwet,” I am not a spare tire NNPP candidate for president
Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate for the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has poked fun of his primary rivals in anticipation of the general elections in 2023.
The former governor of Kano said this in a video that was uploaded on Twitter while establishing his qualities to replace Barack Obama as the country’s next president.
Nigerians should use good judgment while casting their ballots this time around because the nation needs a hero.
I’ve worked with the Ministry of Defense, held office as governor of Kano State, and served as a senator from Kano Central for a number of years, so I have enough experience to understand what is required.
He also bragged about his academic accomplishments while subtly mocking Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the governing All Progressives Congress, and Atiku Abubakar, the party’s nominee.
“Unlike someone who has a high school certificate or a graduation certificate, I possess a Doctor of Philosophy. I’m neither a spare tire or a “bedwetter,” he said.
Atiku, a two-term vice president, might be the target of Kwankwaso’s spare tire jibe. Many politicians dislike the phrase “spare tyre,” including the current vice president Yemi Osinbajo, who prefers to be called “co-pilot.”
In July, Kwankwaso gave Tinubu particular advice to put his declining health above the demands of campaigning.
In February of last year, a video showing Tinubu’s wet garment and potential odor dominated social media conversation.
The APC presidential flag bearer stood up at the palace of Awujale of Ijebuland in Ijebu Ode with his security assistant desperately shielding his nose. He was wet from behind.
Later, Rauf Aregbesola, minister of interior and a former supporter of Tinubu, made a reference to the episode by saying, “won ti n to ara” (they’re already peeing on themselves).
With the 2023 general elections just around the corner, fears over Tinubu’s deteriorating health increased after a picture of him in September wearing what was thought to be a “catheter bag” to discharge pee appeared.
