New Signature Gakpo reveals the two teams that he almost joined before Liverpool.

Cody Gakpo, Liverpool’s newest acquisition, said that, before to signing with the Reds, he was considering joining Manchester United and Leeds United of the Premier League.

Gakpo recently moved from PSG Eindhoven to Liverpool in a deal estimated to be for £35 million.

The Dutch player, who spoke to the Mirror, said:

“This summer was tough. It was a really stressful time.

“I first believed that I would be joining Manchester United, but things did not work out. Then Leeds United entered.

“They’re a terrific club, but I questioned whether I should go there actually, and when you have plenty of questions, it’s not good,” I said.
