Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, has said that despite his team’s 3-1 defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday night, he now has greater faith in their capacity to win the Premier League championship.
Kevin De Bruyne gave City the lead, but Bukayo Saka tied the score with the spot-kick.
The champions took the lead thanks to Jack Grealish, and Erling Haaland later converted off De Bruyne’s assist.
Arsenal, according to Arteta, “matched” City’s caliber and competed head-to-head.
We competed at the same level as the greatest team in the world, they are. Just improving on particular actions will enough to defeat them.
“I have greater confidence [to win the league] now that I see a squad competing against them. You must attend the next one since we have another game in three days. In my teammates, I have greater faith,” Arteta told BBC Sport.
