FA to impose a five-year ban on Bruno Fernandes

Bruno Fernandes was given at least a five-game suspension by the English FA for shoving the lineman during Sunday’s 7-0 loss for Manchester United against Liverpool.

The Portuguese should be suspended for five games, according to Ref Support UK.

After tussling with Trent Alexander-Arnold of Liverpool, Fernandes shoved linesman Adam Nunn in the back.

According to reports in the UK, the FA plans to spare the Portuguese international any punishment for the incident as referee Andy Madley saw it happen.

Nevertheless, Ref Support UK, a group committed to independent referee training, support, and growth, is advocating for a five-match suspension for the former Benfica player.

“I believe he’s got to be facing at least a five-game punishment,” Martin Cassidy, chief executive of Ref Support UK, told PA.

“Contacting a match official is a severe offense that has to be handled seriously.

I believe that is very acceptable.
