Di Maria Slams PSG for Lionel Messi’s Treatment

In order to give Kylian Mbappe full control at the club, Paris Saint-Germain may have disregarded Lionel Messi, according to Juventus forward Angel di Maria.

With Messi and Mbappe as former teammates at PSG, Di Maria believes the Parisians handed the France international too much responsibility when they awarded him a lucrative deal last year while ignoring the Argentina captain.

Remember that Mbappe was on the verge of signing with Real Madrid last summer when his deal with PSG came to an end.

He was given a new contract by the French Ligue 1 winners, making him the highest-paid player in the world.

This was before to Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of Portugal, surpassing it in December 2022 after joining Al-Nassr.

The former Manchester United winger stated the following when speaking to ESPN Argentina (via GOAL):

“In my opinion, Kylian Mbappe has been given a lot of responsibility by France overall. PSG, the president, and the people. They forced him to remain when he had the option of leaving and allowed him the freedom to be fully himself.

Yet there is a significant distinction: They gave him all that authority while standing next to the greatest player in history, Lionel Messi.
