César Azpilicueta, A Chelsea Captain, Gets Released From The Hospital
|César Azpilicueta, the captain of Chelsea, has left the hospital after going into concussion following Saturday’s loss to Southampton at home.
Sekou Mara’s overhead kick attempt caused Azpilicueta to be smacked in the face, leaving him immobile on the field.
The 33-year-old Spanish defender was awake when he was carried off the pitch on a stretcher after receiving oxygen therapy for a while.
He was “recovering nicely,” according to Chelsea.
The Blues added the following in a statement on Tuesday:
“The club’s medical staff is keeping a close eye on Cesar’s health and following the crucial concussion measures in place to protect his safety.
As he begins preparing to return to the field, “Ceasar witnessed training today.”
