Bernardo expresses interest in beginning a “new initiative” outside of Manchester City.

Silva moved to City from Monaco in 2017, and under Pep Guardiola, he has now won four league championships.

He was strongly connected with a transfer to Barcelona in the summer, but he still wants to try his luck with a new team, suggesting that he could make a significant choice about his future in the coming months.

Silva told the Portuguese news site Record, “I’m really focused on this season and it doesn’t make sense to speak about leaving since we’re in the midst of the season.”

I’ll be 29 in the summer and have two more years left on my Manchester City deal. I’m now 28 years old. At age 31, my contract would expire.

“I won’t disguise the fact that, if anything fantastic occurs elsewhere, my objective in the next years will probably be to shift to a new project.”

Before ultimately deciding to remain at City, Silva was being pursued by PSG throughout the summer transfer window.

Silva, though, has acknowledged that his childhood team, Benfica, is on his mind as well.
