Aubameyang’s Transfer To Atletico Madrid Was Refused By Chelsea

In January, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang seemed ready to leave Chelsea.

According to The London Evening Standard, Aubameyang was a target for AC Milan and Atletico Madrid during the January transfer window, but FIFA regulations prevented a deal.

The 33-year-old was prohibited from joining a third club during the winter transfer window since he had played for Chelsea and Barcelona this season.

The only club in all of Europe, the Catalan giants, were permitted to sign their former player, but despite having an interest, they were unable to make the transfer because of Financial Fair Play (FFP) issues.

Graham Potter, the club’s summer acquisition, was not included on the 25-man Champions League roster, and the former Arsenal attacker did not play in Friday’s Premier League match against Fulham.

Aubameyang’s future is now seriously in question due to his exclusion from the Chelsea team that was submitted to UEFA on Thursday.
