Mikel Arteta: “I Knew Arsenal Will Fight Man City For the Title.”
|Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, has acknowledged that he thought it was inevitable that his team will compete with Manchester City and his previous manager Pep Guardiola for the Premier League championship.
Before accepting the position at the Emirates, Arteta spent more than three years working as Guardiola’s assistant.
They shared two Premier League championships, one FA Cup, and two league cups between them.
Arteta, however, now represents the most serious challenge to City’s fifth championship in six years this season.
“That’s odd. We spent a lot of time working together.
Together, we enjoy amazing adventures. We have a really particular bond, so it’s always odd to run across someone like that.
But I knew that would be the situation the day I made the choice to leave Manchester City and join Arsenal, Arteta remarked.
