The World Cup winner, Lionel Messi, explains why Argentina defeated France.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be held in Qatar, and Argentina’s captain Lionel Messi has said that his team’s victory against France was possible because they battled “together and were unified” throughout the match to accomplish their goal.

After 120 minutes at Lusail Stadium on Sunday, Argentina and France tied 3-3 thanks to goals from Lionel Messi twice, Angel di Maria once, and Kylian Mbappe three times.

Argentina eventually defeated France 4-2 in a shootout.

Messi also said in a post on his Instagram page that the success of Lionel Scalon’s team comes before the merits of any one player.

The striker for Paris Saint-Germain wrote: “I can’t believe it; I’ve imagined it so many times and desired it so much that I still haven’t fallen.

“I want to express my sincere gratitude to my family, my supporters, and everyone who had faith in us. We demonstrate once again that when Argentinians unite and fight as one, we can accomplish our goals.

“This group’s power, which transcends that of any person, comes from the fact that they were all working for the same ideal, which was shared by all Argentines… We achieved it!
