Ten Hag, the manager of Man United, decides to sell Harry Maguire
|As he continues to reassemble the team, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag will look to offload Harry Maguire next summer.
The Guardian reports that United may explore offers for its captain in an effort to raise money for an upgrade.
To make up for the £80 million transfer fee they paid for Maguire in August 2019, they might have to accept a sizable loss.
After Sunday’s match between United and Fulham, Maguire will fly to Qatar for the 2022 World Cup.
The 29-year-old is anticipated to be Gareth Southgate’s first pick when England plays Iran on November 21. He hasn’t played in that position for his team this year, however.
Since being selected for United’s 4-0 debacle against Brentford in August and the 2-1 loss to Brighton on the opening weekend of the season, the defender has only started one game for Ten Hag.
Despite not being impressed by Maguire’s lack of speed, Ten Hag is said to respect Maguire’s professionalism and is looking for more competition in that position.
