Lionel Messi: “Final Will Be My Last World Cup Game”

Lionel Messi, the captain of Argentina, has declared that the final on Sunday will be his last World Cup contest.

In Tuesday’s 3-0 semi-final victory against Croatia, the 35-year-old attacker assisted on two other goals and scored his team’s fifth goal of Qatar 2022.

Messi is competing in his sixth World Cup, but he has never taken home the top medal.

“I am thrilled to have played the last game of my World Cup career in the championship game. That makes me feel pretty good, he added.

“Seeing how much Argentina has gotten out of this World Cup has made everything I’ve experienced there emotional.

“There are many years between this year and the next. I doubt I’ll be able to do it. This is a fantastic way to conclude.
