Hudson Odoi declines to represent Ghana in the World Cup

According to SportsMail, Callum Hudson-Odoi declined the opportunity to represent Ghana at the World Cup in Qatar.

The Chelsea winger has postponed making a decision on his future with his country.

This season, Hudson-Odoi is on loan at Bayer Leverkusen, where he has established himself as a key member of the German team that is currently ranked 10th in the Bundesliga.

His performances, however, were insufficient to guarantee him a spot in England’s World Cup squad.

However, Ghana has noticed Hudson-Odoi as they look to bolster their team ahead of the competition.

Due to the fact that his parents are from Ghana, the 22-year-old is qualified to represent the West African nation.

Though he has played three senior matches for England, this means that he is still free to change his national team allegiance.

Since he attained all three of those caps before turning 21, he is now eligible to represent another country if he so chooses.
