Cristiano Ronaldo Declines Joining New Club Offer

As he considers his next step in his career, former Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has turned down an offer to play for a team in the A-League in Australia.

Soon after the 37-year-old’s departure from Manchester United, A-League president Danny Townsend revealed the league’s plans to entice Ronaldo to Australia. However, he has since confirmed that the Portugal captain has rejected their offer.

After his contract with Manchester United was mutually terminated, Ronaldo is looking for a new team.

Remember how Ronaldo and Man United split up last month after his controversial interview with British broadcaster Piers Morgan?

Townsend told the Sydney Morning Herald, “We had interesting discussions, and there was genuine interest, but it’s clear he has other priorities at this point.

Ronaldo has been heavily linked to a lucrative move to the Middle East, with Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr reportedly putting forward an offer worth £173 million (AU$314.5 million) per season.

However, following Portugal’s 6-1 World Cup victory over Switzerland on Tuesday night, the former Real Madrid star denied those reports.

Ronaldo responded, “No, that is not true – not true.

Al Nassr reportedly offered a two and a half year agreement that would last until the summer of 2025.
