After being stabbed, Arsenal defender Pablo Mari returned to training.
|Pablo Mari, an Arsenal defender who was stabbed in an Italian supermarket two months ago, has resumed training with his loan team, Monza.
At Milan’s Niguarda hospital, the 29-year-old had surgery to rebuild two torn muscles in his back.
Mari, who transferred from Brazilian club Flamengo to Arsenal in January 2020, claimed he was “fortunate” to have avoided serious injuries.
The defender wrote on Twitter:
“Returning to the group. A step at a time.
Luis Fernando Ruggieri, a 47-year-old supermarket worker, was killed in the event in Milan in October. Along with Mari, four other customers also sustained injuries.
