Heavy Rains In UAE And Surrounded Country Have Led To 18 Person Death

Heavy rains in the United Arab Emirates have caused major highway flooding and left vehicles abandoned in Dubai. In neighboring Oman, 18 people have died in separate flooding, with others still missing. The storm disrupted flights at Dubai International Airport and caused flashing lightning.
The UAE, a federation of seven sheikhdoms, shut schools and government employees due to a storm. Many workers stayed home, while some ventured out due to deeper-than-expected water. Authorities used tanker trucks to pump water away, with initial estimates suggesting over 30 millimeters of rain in Dubai.
Heavy rains have caused widespread flooding in Bahrain, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, with at least 18 people killed in neighboring Oman, including 10 schoolchildren, prompting regional leaders to offer condolences.
