Sanwo-olu Asserts That Lagos Has Pledged To Finish The Red Line Rail Project.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, visited yesterday’s current construction projects around the state’s Red Line Rail project and reaffirmed the commitment of the government to seeing the project through to completion.

Sanwo-Olu examined the continuing Red Line Rail stations and the vehicle overpass at the state’s Yaba and Ebute Meta axis.

After reviewing the project, Sanwo-Olu said that the Yaba vehicle bridge overpass was 90% complete and that the Ebute Metta vehicular bridge overpass was between 75% and 80% complete due to the government’s partnership with the Nigerian Railway Corporation.

Also, he said with pleasure the advancement of the two railway stations’ construction, which extends from Ebute- Meta to Agbado, and that they were at an advanced degree of completion.

When the current contemporary red line project is finished, the tragic train tragedy that lost lives at the PWD rail crossing might be avoided, according to the governor, who made this statement while on the inspection visit.

Sanwo-Olu said that the reason for the early restart of construction right after the 2023 elections was to keep the “more work” campaign pledge to complete the “Lagos Project.”

The governor expressed satisfaction with the harmonious cohabitation of the area’s many ethnic groups and promised that the government will continue to advocate for measures to prevent individuals from using the train route for commercial purposes.
