Police Start Looking For The Offenders
The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for governor in the State for the next general elections, Prof. Bernard Odoh, was attacked. The Police Command in Ebonyi has initiated an inquiry to find the attackers.
This was said in a statement released on Saturday in Abakaliki by SP Chris Anyanwu, the command’s PPRO.
“On February 2 at about 2208 hours, unidentified armed men attacked and fired intermittently at the convoy of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for governor of Ebonyi State, Prof. Bernard Odoh.”
It said that Odoh was accosted on his way home from the party’s campaign stop to Abakaliki.
One of the drivers and a SPU employee were shot during the terrible occurrence, which happened at the Rest House axis in Okpoto’s Ishielu local government area of the state.
One Toyota Hilux van was completely destroyed, while another vehicle in the convoy suffered comparable damage.
The Guber Candidate, as well as all other dignitaries and party supporters, managed to escape unharmed.
