Ohanaeze encourages Nigerians to vote for capability and competency

Factional Ohanaeze Ndigbo encouraged Nigerians Monday to vote for competence and capability in this year’s general elections, arguing that doing so will prevent the Northern president from being in place beyond 2023.

Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the factional secretary general of the top Igbo sociocultural group, noted in a New Year’s statement in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State, that the North has realized that its political leaders are hypocritical about putting an end to banditry and terrorism in the region, insisting that only a Southern president—not the PDP presidential candidate—can end insecurity in the North.

He urged Nigerians to vote in favor of competence and ability in this year’s presidential election, but he also said they should vote against the change from one Fulani administration to another.

He also begged the unidentified gunmen to stop fighting in the area. He continued by saying that the Igbo must put a stop to both the spread of violent agitation and the murderous herdsmen via self-support.

He insisted that the sit-at-home order had cost the Ndigbo billions of naira, emphasizing that this was bad for the Ndigbo as a whole.

He declared: “Ndigbo should understand that in order to put a stop to the craziness of herdsmen and unidentified gunmen terrorizing the people of the area, they must protect themselves via self-help.

“Criminals clearly seized control of the Biafra agitation.

“In order to address the region’s security issues, it is time to pursue criminals and their financial backers.

“South East governors need to realize that they are in charge of safeguarding people and property. Additionally, we demand that the Federal Government begin preparations for Simon Ekpa’s arrest.
