My bid for president is being thwarted by INEC, claims Kachikwu

insists that Obi, Atiku, and Tinubu are unfit to rule

Dumebi Kachikwu, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for president, has claimed that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is impeding his aspirations.

Addressing to reporters in Abuja, he questioned why INEC decided to hand over the agent codes to the Chief Ralph Nwosu section of the party notwithstanding the Federal High Court’s decision to invalidate his term.

As things are right now, Kachikwu said, he lacks operatives who would defend his interests nationwide on election day.

He said that he would go to court to seek restitution on the issue but insisted that he would not withdraw from the presidential campaign as a result of the development.

“After achieving their nefarious objectives, the same INEC wrote Senator Mrs. Patricia Akwashiki, the Chairman of our party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), last week, affirming and accepting that there is a leadership vacuum within the party since Nwosu’s tenure has since expired and requesting arbitration between the factions in the party,” he said.

“Since INEC decided to do this after the time for agent submission had passed, this is really dishonest of them. The same agent codes have reportedly been sold by the Nwosu group to the highest bidder from other parties, according to ADC candidates throughout the nation.

“INEC has compromised the integrity of the elections in addition to hurting and frustrating my campaign as well as that of the majority of candidates in my party.

The primary goal of any legal action, according to my legal team, would be to prevent INEC from continuing its practice of using smaller parties as extensions or agents of the larger parties. I’m now in legal conversation with them about this.

He also disputed the rumor that he had reached an agreement to adopt Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate.

“Today I decided to reply,” Kachikwu stated. I had hoped that the APC and PDP would introduce Nigerians to the next wave of leaders, as did many other Nigerians. I personally anticipated a debate between Professor Yemi Osinbajo and Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, two of the two parties’ brightest thinkers.
