Makinde to the Oyo People, “I Don’t Take Your Support For Granted”

Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, claims that his government has shown an unwavering dedication to serving the state’s citizens.

The Governor announced this in a New Year’s address delivered on Sunday in Ibadan by Mr. Taiwo Adisa, his chief press secretary.

Makinde thanked the state’s citizens for the opportunity to serve them and said the previous three years and seven months were evidence of his administration’s dedication to doing so.

The governor said his government had prioritized infrastructure development while also attending to other commitments, noting that it did not take the support of the state’s citizens for granted.

Makinde said that he was certain he would be re-elected for a second four-year term in the next general elections and that his government had succeeded in putting the state on the road of sustainable growth.

He listed some of the accomplishments made by his administration in a variety of areas, including the improvement of infrastructure, health, education, security, and the economy, among others.

“My wonderful people of Oyo State, as the conclusion of my first term as your governor approaches, I must express my sincere thanks to you for the opportunity to serve you,” the governor remarked.

“I don’t take the help you have provided our administration over the years for granted.

“Without your guidance and encouragement, we would not have been able to move our beloved state toward sustainable growth.

“Everything we accomplished as part of the Oyo State Roadmap to Accelerated Development, 2019-2023 was leading up to this point.

“The previous 43 months are evidence of our dedication to helping our community. We have shown to our employees that it is feasible to prioritize infrastructure development while also upholding our other responsibilities to them.

Every year at this time, he wrote to you, “I summarize our actions for the year and show you how we have behaved like the devoted servant who improved his master’s talent.”
