Major restructuring involves the redeployment of branch leaders, AOCs, and spokespersons.

The new Branch Chiefs, Air Officers Commanding (AOCs), Commandants of Tri-Service, and NAF Institutions were authorized for appointment and redeployment by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Wednesday in Abuja.

 

The hiring of a new spokesman and other senior executives was also authorized.

 

The new postings and the redeployment, according to Group Capt. Joel Abioye of the NAF’s Directorate of Public Relations and Information, were a normal measure to improve operational effectiveness and efficient service delivery.

 

The appointments, according to Abioye, were given the go by Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, the chief of staff.

 

While AVM Idi Lubo, the former Commandant of the Armed Forces Resettlement Center in Lagos, took over as Chief of Policy and Plans, AVM Jackson Yusuf, the former Chief of Policy and Plans, was named as Chief of Defence Policy and Plans (CDPP).

 

While AVM Ayoola Jolasinmi, former CDPP, Defence Headquarters (DHQ), is now the Chief of Defence Space Administration, AVM Mohammed Yakubu, the most recent Commandant of the Air Force Institute of Technology, is now in charge of aircraft engineering.

 

“AVM Anthony Tuwase, who formerly served as the Commandant of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College in Jaji, is currently the Chief of Defence Transformation and Innovation (CDTI), DHQ.

 

“In the same line, AVM Ibikunle Daramola, the former Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Ground Training Command, Enugu, is named the Chief of Communications Information Systems. AVM Paul Masiyer is now the Chief of Logistics, HQ NAF.

 

While AVM Anthony Ndace is now the NAF’s Air Secretary, AVM Samuel Chinda will now serve as the organization’s Chief of Air Intelligence.

 

The previous Chief of Aircraft Engineering, AVM Emmanuel Wonah, who is now the Commandant of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, is also impacted by the new appointments.

 

AVM Paul Jemitola, the previous Air Secretary, is now the Commandant of the Air Force Institute of Technology in Kaduna, while AVM Charles Ohwo, the former CDTI, has been appointed as the Commandant of the Armed Forces Resettlement Centre in Lagos.

 

Abioye announced that AVM Abraham Adole has been appointed as the Air Force War College’s new Commandant.
