In Anambra, the FRSC awards 45 newly promoted officers.

On Tuesday, the Anambra Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) awarded new ranks to 45 of the state’s newly promoted officers, out of a total of 72.

Adeoye Irelewuyi, the Sector Commander, said at the event that a high number of officers were being promoted for the first time in the command’s history.

Irelewuyi urged the newly promoted officers to see their promotion as a call to greater responsibility and a test of their management and leadership skills in order to actualize the strategic objectives of the FRSC for 2023.

“Promotion is a sign of achievement and a reward for perseverance and hard work, and it is cause for celebration.

“In Anambra, where six officers were elevated to Deputy Corps Commanders and one officer was promoted to Assistant Corps Commander, the commission recommended promoting 72 officers to their next positions.

In all, 11 officers received the promotion to Chief Route Commander, 22 were given the promotion to Superintendent Route Commander, 18 were given the promotion to Route Commander, and 14 were given the promotion to Deputy Route Commander.

“Only 45 will get decorations today since the others have already received them from other component directives. As you all take on more responsibility, I applaud you all,” he remarked.

Peter Ozigi, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, spoke on behalf of Anambra’s Commissioner of Police, Echeng Echeng, who asked the newly promoted policemen to be devoted, vigilant, and prayerful.

Mr. Enoch Pawa, Director of the Department of State Services, Anambra State Command, exhorts them to put in more effort since positions of more responsibility come with higher ranks.

Joseh Makamre, one of the promoted officers, praised the corps for considering them deserving of the promotion and said that it would motivate them to give their all in carrying out the corps’s mission.

Makamre committed to uphold expectations in his new position after being elevated to Chief Route Commander.
