Lawan Casts A Ballot And Applauds Nass For Approving The Election Act.

After casting his ballot on Saturday, Senate President Ahmad Lawan expressed confidence that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), will win the election.

The 2023 elections will be very important, according to Mr. Lawan, since the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been given enough room to use more technology in the electoral process according to an amendment to the Election Act adopted by the ninth National Parliament.

“Today’s elections are very significant for so many reasons, but one of the major reasons is what the ninth National Assembly has done – to produce an amendment of the Electoral Act that gives INEC sufficient latitude to introduce more technology for the election process,” Mr. Lawan said in a statement to journalists after casting his ballot at his Katuzu ward polling unit in his hometown, Gashua in Yobe State.

“The BVAS certification procedure just took me a minute to complete. My voting process didn’t take me more than a minute. Since the approach eliminated any potential for fraud, double votes, or other forms of compromise, it was crucial for Nigeria’s democracy.

“And I think that this process will create the leaders that the electorate would have chosen to be in charge of them.

“I also want to use this occasion to thank the President for approving the Electoral Act, which is a shared accomplishment.
