In Ondo, Thugs Torch A Church And Other Buildings.
Over the weekend, individuals in Ondo State thought to be hoodlums demolished a church.
The properties of the church, Motailatu Church of God, in the state’s Akure North Local Council Area were set on fire by unidentified arsonists.
The Cherubim and Seraphim sect includes the church.
The assault on the church, according to the church’s resident minister, Reverend David Akinadewo, who talked about the event, took place on Friday night.
Akinadewo said that the altar was smashed, and the church auditorium was covered with broken bottles.
Many plastic chairs and offering trays were set on fire inside the church, the monk said.
The church’s prayer room and the tithe box were among the other areas that were destroyed.
He said that the Oda Divisional Police Headquarters in Akure had received a report of the event.
Meanwhile, the state’s police leadership said that an inquiry had started to identify individuals responsible for the assault.
