In Abia, Onwusibe Gets A Reps Seat For The Lp.

Ginger Onwusibe, a House of Representatives candidate for the Labour Party (LP), has been named the victor in Abia State’s Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal Constituency.

 

Prof. Anthony Agbazuere, a candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was beaten by Onwusibe. Former PDP member of the Abia House of Assembly, Onwusibe.

 

He received 20,411 votes to win the House of Representatives race, making him the first Labour Party candidate to be formally recognized as the victor of a National Assembly seat in the Saturday election. 13,508 people voted for his PDP opponent, who served as Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s chief of staff.

 

Agbazuere was beaten by the Labour Party candidate even in his Isiala Ngwa South Council. After problems that followed the PDP primaries, Onwusibe joined the Labour Party.

 

The Labour Party has triumphed in the two councils that have been declared so far, according to the results of the presidential election for Enugu, which were released at the State Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters yesterday.

 

The councils consist of Enugu South and Nkanu East. Scholastica Eze, the collation officer for Nkanu East Council, said that the LP received 11,746, APC had 94 votes, and the PDP had 1430.

 

Patricia Agor, the collation officer for Enugu South Council, revealed that LP received 38,511 votes compared to the PDP’s 336, the All Progressives Grand Alliance’s (APGA’s) 201, and the All Progressives Congress’ (APC’s) 6.
