I Don’t Have Social Media Accounts, According To Prof. Oloyede, Jamb Registrar

Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s Registrar, has distanced himself from friend requests received from profiles on social media that seem to be his, claiming he neither owns nor manages any such accounts.

Oloyede revealed this on Friday in a statement made by Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the board’s head of public affairs and protocol.

The declaration read,

“The Board’s attention has been raised to a LinkedIn account that sends friend requests to members of the public and claims to be the account of Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). This scheme was developed with the express purpose of taking advantage of trusting members of the public.

The Board would want to make it clear that Prof. Is-haq Oloyede neither owns nor manages any social media accounts, nor has he requested anybody to do so on his behalf.

The social networking site LinkedIn was created primarily for the corporate world. It should be understood that the site’s objective is to provide registered users the opportunity to interact with individuals they know and trust on a professional level. Professor Oloyede neither belongs to nor plans to join this group of people.

This disclaimer is necessary due to some dishonest individuals who allegedly opened his LinkedIn account in order to deceive unwary members of the public by making false claims that the learned professor is assisting in networking business enterprises, managing careers, offering jobs, running a research firm, or connecting individuals with business contacts of firms or industry.

In order to avoid becoming a victim of fraudsters, “The Board strongly advises the general public to be aware of these criminal groups.”
