Girls Trip 2 Will Be Filmed In Ghana

In an interview, Tracy Oliver, a writer, director, and producer who co-wrote the original 2017 comedy, provided an update on the imminent reunion of Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Tiffany Haddish.

Oliver said she has a “definitive ‘Girls Trip 2’ update” while promoting her video series “Harlem.” The movie is “Officially happening,” she said. I’m able to say that. She provided further context for the story, stating that Will Packer, the movie’s producer, “may murder me, we’re trying to place it in Ghana.”

The first “Girls Trip,” which had a modest $16 million budget, was a big box office hit, grossing $140 million worldwide. Malcolm D. Lee directed the movie, which was also co-written by Oliver and Kenya Barris based on a story they had created with Erica Rivinoja. Packer served as the film’s producer. It also assisted Haddish, who had just been in scandal, in gaining notoriety.

At the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival, Oliver’s highly praised horror comedy, The Blackening, had its global debut. Oliver has lately had a festival winning streak. The Tim Story-directed movie was acquired by Lionsgate after TIFF, and it will be shown on June 19th.

The second season of “Harlem,” starring Meagan Good, Grace Byers, Jerrie Johnson, and Shandai, will premiere on Prime Video on February 3.
