France Offers Covid Screenings To Chinese Tourists

In response to the “developing scenario,” France said on Saturday that it has extended the Covid testing for travelers coming from China until February 15.

The original deadline for the exams was January 31.

Since the beginning of the year, adults traveling from China to France must provide a negative test result from 48 hours before to the journey in order to board the aircraft.

The French authorities said that there would be random testing and that anybody who tested positive would need to isolate themselves. They also stated that anyone older than six years old would need to use a face mask aboard the aircraft.

After Beijing opted to loosen tight virus controls, some nations imposed new travel restrictions on visitors from China.

China claims that since the beginning of the month, the number of daily Covid-19 fatalities has decreased by over 80%.

Since Beijing unexpectedly abandoned its zero-Covid policy last month, a wave of virus outbreaks has swept through the country with the largest population in the world.

Given China’s strict definition of a Covid death and official estimations that large segments of the population have been infected, Beijing’s numbers are thought to only be a small portion of the total toll.
