Four-Man Fraud Syndicate Is Arrested by Delta Police, 15 ATM Cards Are Recovered.
In the community of Ogwashi-Uku, the Delta State Police Command has detained four fraudsters.
Based on reliable information, Decoy Squad agents headed by ASP Julius Robinson detained the suspects.
In a statement on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, the command’s spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, stated the suspects specialize in cheating victims including POS operators and fueling stations.
The suspects were also found to have a tricycle and fifteen different bank ATM cards, according to the police.
“On January 22, 2023, at approximately 8:00 a.m., Decoy Squad agents under the direction of ASP Julius Robinson stormed Ogwashi-Uku town and detained the following suspects: (1) Allison Louis, a 27-year-old native of Numan LGA in Adamawa state; (2) Sunday David, a 22-year-old native of Oturkpo in Benue state; and (3) Peter Akagbai, a 20-year-old resident of One (1) tricycle and fifteen (15) different bank ATM cards are among the exhibits retrieved from the syndicate.
“The banks will then incorrectly debit the victims’ accounts and credit those of the accused without conducting a proper investigation. They have stolen millions of naira from their many victims thus far. The inquiry is underway.
