Fake Naira Notes Are Spreading, Says NSCDC
|The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has received reports of the fake, freshly created Naira notes that are now in use (NSCDC).
The commandant-general of the corps, Ahmed Audi, voiced worry about the circumstance and committed to see to it that those responsible were brought to justice.
In little than a month, the corps had apprehended and seized fake Naira notes worth millions from members of syndicates in many states throughout the country, according to Audi.
The NSCDC Commandant-General stated that the fraudsters took advantage of the poor circulation of the redesigned Naira notes to make enormous amounts of counterfeit notes. He also recommended Nigerians to deal with banks, particularly where substantial quantities are involved.
“Many innocent Nigerians may have fallen prey to their scam as they collected bank money transfers and foreign currency conversion,” the NSCDC Commandant-General remarked.
We will be able to catch other criminals who have chosen to take advantage of the nation’s economic condition by defrauding citizens thanks to the arrest of this network.
