After The Raid On Kuje Prison, How Fg “Foiled Fresh Jailbreaks”

After the Kuje incident last year, the country’s interior minister, Rauf Aregbesola, stated Tuesday that there had been new efforts to get into several of the country’s correctional facilities.

However, Aregbesola emphasized that the majority of the offenders had been “sent to their Maker.” He spoke during the 64th ministerial briefing, which was held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja and hosted by the Presidential Communications Team.

The minister stated that going forward, it would be hard for escaped criminals to hide since all detainees in the nation had already had their biometric information collected, declining to provide specifics about the centers where the attempts were made.

Following the assault on the Kuje detention facility in July of last year, more than 400 detainees went missing. The event allegedly resulted in the deaths of four prisoners, a security officer, and many assailants.

It’s not the same game anymore. We are arming our soldiers to protect such sites on their own. Additionally, sister organizations are increasing their ability to safeguard and defend our facilities. And we’re upgrading the architecture of our buildings to make them almost impenetrable,” he said.

Additionally, the Federal Government made fun of Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, for pledging to address issues plaguing Ajaokuta Steel Company.

According to reports, Atiku made the pledge at a campaign trip in Kogi State around two weeks ago. Lai Mohammed, minister of information and culture, criticized Atiku’s campaign pledge as dishonest and the product of his thirst for power. He said that when Atiku was in charge of privatization, the administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo granted Ajaokuta to Global Steel Industry in 2004.
