After Guber’s Defeat, Governor Makinde Requests Assistance From Folarin And Adelabu

Seyi Makinde, the just re-elected governor of Oyo State, has urged his rivals in that state’s 2023 gubernatorial race to back his government.

Remember that Makinde won the March 18 gubernatorial election and was re-elected into office last week.

Remember that Teslim Folarin, Makinde’s main competitor from the All Progressives Congress (APC), was defeated when he ran for office on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform.

Makinde won the election in Oyo State’s 33 local government areas with 563,756 votes, defeating Folarin with 256,685 votes and Adebayo Adelabu of the Accord party with 38,357 votes to finish third.

The governor said that in order to take the State to new heights, he needed to work along with Folarin, Adelabu, and other individuals during a monitored radio broadcast on Saturday.

Makinde maintains that he is willing to collaborating with the ideas of his rivals whenever they are proven to be superior to his, and that his win in the election is a triumph for the people and the State.

“Now that the election campaign problem is behind us, we must focus on the governance issue.

“We must ensure that we advance our state because this is our state and commonwealth.

He said, “I also want to thank the political parties that dismantled their organizations to support me.
