Atiku’s Remark About Foreign Health Gets a Reaction from Shehu Sani
Senator Shehu Sani, a former congressman from Nigeria, responded to Atiku Abubakar’s assertion that he would need to seek medical facilities abroad.
Atiku, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) nominee for president, stated on Sunday during the presidential town hall meeting series on Arise Television that, if elected, he might not totally rely on Nigerian hospitals for his or her own healthcare.
He stated:
There might not be any healthcare institutions that can accommodate my needs.
“We have constraints, and we are aware of them.”
Senator Sani, however, has stated that it was preferable for Atiku to avoid the road of misleading campaign tactics.
He posted on his verified Twitter account to express his response.
He stated:
“It’s better that Atiku declined to follow that course of political dishonesty rather than pretend that if he wins, he will confine himself to Nigerian hospitals.”
Recall that Nigerian political leaders have a terrible reputation for seeking medical treatment abroad, a trend that has been attributed to the neglect of the nation’s health sector.
