10 People Perish In A Car Collision On The Lagos-ibadan Highway.

In a collision between a Mack truck and a Toyota Hiace bus in Oniworo section on the Lagos-Ibadan highway, no less than 10 people were reported killed on Saturday.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun’s Sector Commander, Mr. Ahmed Umar, verified the event to news reporters in Abeokuta.

The collision happened around 4:30 in the morning, according to Umar.

The head of the FRSC highlighted that the trailer’s restriction of the road as well as the bus driver’s excessive speed and lack of control were all factors in the disaster.

He added that the Toyota bus with the registration number KLD 539 XA lost control and collided with the back of the unregistered vehicle.

The collision affected 19 persons in all, including 13 adult males and 6 adult females.

According to him, the accident claimed the lives of eight male adults, two female adults, and one female kid.

According to Umar, the dead were left at the Ipara mortuary while the wounded were brought to Victory Hospital in Ogere for medical assistance.

When driving in bad weather, the sector commander advised drivers to constantly turn on their headlamps.

He advised vehicles to constantly use warning signs if there was a breakdown on the road, particularly truck drivers.

He expressed sympathy to the crash victims’ families and instructed them to get in touch with FRSC Ogunmakin for additional details regarding the accident.
