Wike’s meeting with the PDP G5 Governors was discussed in detail.

Details of the meeting between the five disgruntled PDP governors and several party chieftains have come to light.

On Sunday, the Southern Sun hotel in Ikoyi, Lagos, hosted a meeting of the five PDP governors and supporters of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.

The Integrity Group, the G5 governors, and other PDP stalwarts discussed the next course of action for the ongoing crisis that is roiling the opposition party at the meeting.

Former Plateau Governor Jonah Jang stated in reading the group’s communiqué after its discussions that the G5 and its participants underlined their willingness for peace.

Jang said that the governors’ demands, which still exist, include the resignation of Senator Iyiocha Ayu, the party’s National Chairman, and the selection of a South African as his replacement.

He said that unless their demands are satisfied, the governors and members of the Integrity group will not take part in the PDP presidential campaign.

Atiku Abubakar, a PDP presidential contender, and Ayu, according to Jang, were asked by the Wike camp to make up their choices quickly.

“After carefully evaluating the latest circumstances, we have chosen to uphold the conclusion we made at our Port-Harcourt meeting,” he stated. We want to emphasize that there is still time for reconciliation inside our cherished party.

Governors Sam Ortom (Benue), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Rivers), and Nyesom Wike (Rivers) were present at the meeting.

Others were Ayodele Fayose, an ex-governor of Ekiti; Olusegun Mimiko, an ex-governor of Ondo; and Donald Duke, an ex-governor of Cross Rivers.

Former Justice Minister Mohammed Adoke, PDP Deputy National Chairman (South), Taofeek Arapaja, PDP National Vice Chairman (South-South), Dan Orbih, Senators Sunday Onor, Nafiz Suleiman, Olaka Nwogu, Nene Ukeje, Senator Mao Ohabunwa, Ali Odefa, and Dotun Babayemi were also present.
