Abdullahi Abbas, the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) state chairman in Kano, has pledged that the party would hold onto power in the state by all means necessary.
At the launch of the party’s campaign in the state’s Gaya Local Government Area on Wednesday, Mr. Abbas made the pledge.
He said that no one should even consider trying to overthrow the APC, the current government.
Mr. Abbas said that the big attendance at the event was a glaring indication that the APC is ready to sweep the 2023 elections.
People are telling me to stop stating that the APC would take over Kano by whatever means necessary,” he stated. This group needs to know that the APC will take Kano by whatever means necessary.
“Today, we showed that we are determined to win the election in 2023 from top to bottom.
“APC is based in Gaya, as you are aware; no other political party can equal our power and influence. To keep our hegemony, we’re prepared to grab the bull by the horns. The future governor of Kano State will be Gawuna, who is our candidate.
Nasiru Gawuna, the deputy governor of the state and the APC’s candidate for governor, said in his speech that with the backing of the governor and other party chieftains, God has already predestined his triumph.
“I want to think that God controls my destiny, and I am absolutely certain that if He wills it, nothing will prevent me from winning the race.
He said, “Our party continues to be strong and alive, and we are also determined to stay firm in the face of any adversities.
