Sen. Maeba: “I Don’t Want To Engage In Open Confrontation With Wike.”

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign council chairman in Rivers State, Senator Lee Maeba, has explained why he prefers to avoid open conflict with Governor Nyesom Wike.

On Wednesday, Senator Maeba revealed this while participating on the Arise Television News show.

Recall that Maeba’s home was reportedly targeted by gunmen lately.

Maeba had said after the incident that the gunmen had allegedly been deployed by the government of Rivers State.

Maeba, who appeared on Arise TV, said that he did not want to discuss Governor Wike because of his party, the PDP.

“I am very certain that Governor Wike is aware of the reality, which is that the PDP should remain in power in Rivers State. He may leave us all as PDP members with it as his legacy.

And you can only succeed in a peaceful environment, as we said when we spoke to the press on Monday. We want to play five-over-five like we have in the past.

Even the All Progressive Congress, APC, now lacks a council member. However, if everyone spreads out and goes their own ways, we cannot achieve that outcome since there will be very little manipulation now that we have BVAS. Therefore, you don’t monitor how individuals vote in their specific wards.

“We don’t want to speak about Governor Wike because it would be bad for our party; whatever we say would either be an assault on his reputation or his person; by doing so, we would be giving the opposition an opportunity, and we won’t give them that chance.

We respect our party and we respect Governor Wike, so we cannot be forced into an open argument. For this reason, I will continue to practice restraint in both my words and deeds to create a place for us to meet again and shake hands.
