Second fire in three days strikes the Baghdad airport.

The second fire in three days to occur at one of the Baghdad airport’s terminals prompted Iraq to launch an inquiry on Thursday.

The most recent fire, which destroyed many airline offices in the two-story Nineveh Terminal, caused no injuries.

According to his office, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani went to the airport to get a briefing on the fire investigators’ investigation.

The fire was put out by civil defense forces, it was said.

It happened after a fire that started in a refreshments area in the departures lounge of one of the terminals on Tuesday caused minor injuries to three persons.

Iraq’s infrastructure is in poor condition as a result of ongoing conflict, neglect, and corruption.

Accidents are widespread in both the transportation and construction industries due to frequent violations of safety regulations.

Since it was opened in the 1980s, while the late dictator Saddam Hussein was in power, Baghdad Airport has not received any significant improvements.
