Issues Under the FG’s Control That Are Responsible For Poverty In Nigeria – Peter Obi

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) nominee for president, said on Sunday that the federal government has “purview” over the problems contributing to the nation’s growing poverty rate.

The challenges of security and “economic viability,” according to Obi, who revealed this during the Arise TV presidential town hall series on Sunday night, are the responsibility of the federal government.

According to the former governor of Anambra State, the poverty rate would decline if the federal government protects the country and creates an atmosphere that is favorable to businesses.

“The Federal Government is responsible for the majority of the issues that lead to poverty in today’s society. I will take care of it.

He spoke.

Recall that last week, the federal government held State governors accountable for the communities’ unavoidable underdevelopment in local government areas.

In response, the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) said that the growth in poverty is due to the Federal Government’s failure to safeguard the nation.

133 million Nigerians, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), are multidimensionally poor.
