Inec Cautions Politicians Who Purchase Pvc That You Would Be Disappointed.

Yesterday, (INEC) said categorically that politicians who are “still going about acquiring Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs)” for use on election day would be disappointed.

The Commission further stated that rather than “smearing the reputation of INEC with baseless conspiracy theories,” supporters of the opposing presidential candidates will do their respective candidates a greater favor if they spend the next two months leading up to the election vigorously persuading and mobilizing registered voters to vote for their preferred candidates. “It will not work,” the Commission promised.

Mr. Rotimi Oyekanmi, Chief Press Secretary to INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu, insisted that the Commission is not a political party and does not have a favorite candidate during a conversation with The Guardian.

He claims that since the completion of the 2019 general elections, the Commission has been working to improve the current tools and introduce new ones in order to be ready for the 2023 elections.

“These improvements are intended to preserve the integrity of the process and make it impossible for any politician or INEC personnel to compromise an election in favor of any candidate,” the speaker stated.

Because INEC has progressed well beyond the time when the Incident Form may be utilized for that purpose on election day, the suggestion that certain politicians are purchasing PVCs in order to rig the 2023 general election is unfounded.

The Guardian requested an official response from INEC in response to a message that was popular on social media and claimed that attempts to purchase votes might ultimately “reflect on INEC’s portal…in partnership with INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu.”

“Yesterday, I was driving through Ahiazu Council office and I observed many people there,” a portion of the message says. I inquired, and was informed that they wanted to complete and submit documents for empowerment. After asking how, I was handed a form that was being filled out.
