In Benue, a road named after Wike leads to Ayu’s home

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDPG5 )’s of five governors descended in Makurdi, the seat of government for Benue State, on Monday to witness the dedication of a few initiatives that Governor Samuel Ortom had begun and completed.

Together with Ortom, the following governors were present: Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu). Iyorchia Ayu has often been urged to resign from his position as PDP national chairman by the five governors.

One of the projects that was formally launched on Monday was the 2.1 km Township Road, popularly known as the Nyesom Wike Road. It was constructed by the Ortom government.

Former governor of Benue Gabriel Suswam opened the road that goes to Ayu’s home and is located behind the Commissioner’s Quarters in Makurdi.

Before the inauguration, the G5 spent some time to speak to PDP supporters during a gathering held to raise support for all PDP candidates in Benue, including Titus Uba, the state’s PDP gubernatorial candidate and speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly.

As the PDP G5 continued to demand that Ayu step down as the party’s national chairman, Wike said in the evening that they were bound together to preserve Nigeria and that no one could splinter their ranks.

“People have attempted to break us, but you cannot. To rescue Nigeria, we are obligated.

“As a result, we seem impenetrable when you observe the group as a whole. Nobody can split us apart. They have tried every method known to man to split us apart, but it hasn’t worked.

“The way we work; I’ll speak about it; we have non-talkers. You could be ranking them too low. By the time they startle you, you would believe you are seeing Wike, but he is not, he claimed.
