For defiling his stepdaughter, 13, a 40-year-old guy was detained.

In Ogun State, a 40-year-old man named Taofeek Sulaiman was detained for defiling his 13-year-old stepdaughter.

He was detained when the victim’s mother—the woman who wed him after losing her first husband, the girl’s father—reported the event to the authorities.

She said her daughter had told her that the suspect had been sleeping with her since October 14 and had threatened to kill her if she told anybody about the alleged relationship.

Abimbola Oyeyemi, a spokesman for the Ogun police, verified the occurrence and said that detectives entered the scene and detained the suspect at the direction of Divisional Police Officer Muhammed Baba of the Owode Yewa division, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP).

The kid was subsequently transported by the police to Idiroko General Hospital for medical care.
