Atiku explains why individuals with disabilities shouldn’t support the APC in 2023.

Physically handicapped persons have been advised not to support the All Progressives Congress in the next 2023 presidential election by PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.

Speaking at the launch of the PDP’s PWD National Campaign Council, the former vice president of Nigeria said that the APC had failed to put the legislation protecting people with disabilities into effect despite the bill’s approval by the National Assembly.

You have no reason to vote for the APC again since it has refused to put the PWD legislation into effect. I really want you to identify your membership and persuade them to vote for the PDP since that party has acknowledged them and given them a particular position.

“Please accept my congratulations on your appointment to the presidential campaign council and the observance of World Disability Day. You make your own unique contribution to the economy, and the PDP acknowledges this. For this reason, we have given you a specific position in our party’s charter and campaign council.

“Some individuals have said that there are 19 million, 20 million, or 25 million people with disabilities in Nigeria, but let’s pretend there are 20 million of you. We won’t need anybody else if you all cast your votes for us. Therefore, you matter to us much.

Iyiocha Ayu, the national chairman of the PDP, stated that the party is establishing the PWD campaign council simply because it recognizes the suffering and importance of PWDs.

“I’m glad that our party is providing these exceptional individuals this chance, and if you look at our party, you’ll see people with disabilities in positions,” he remarked.
